A new kid on the block

Brisbane, you’re an absolute star.

Have you spent a night out lately? If you’re looking for a great dining option or a new bar for a quiet drink, the biggest challenge is deciding which of our 50-plus world-class new venues to discover.

One of the latest hotspots in launch mode is a casual all-day dining destination next to an old favourite of mine, Mosconi. Mark Rotolone, the man behind Mosconi, is expanding next door with a European-style space featuring a fit-out designed by George Kouparitsas Architects and By Burke Design.

Tino is all about great coffee, beautiful breakfast dishes and light lunches before moving into aperitivo mode as the day winds down, serving spritzes, small share plates and a welcoming spot at the bar for locals to settle in.

Brisbane’s booming café, restaurant and bar scene isn’t just in my own head. The hospitality sector here has grown by 30 per cent since 2020, making it the fastest-growing of any Australian capital city.

Our experience economy is a major driver, from world-class events to a thriving hospitality scene that continues to attract more visitors, investment and jobs. The impending Olympics are a major sweetener too.

If you haven’t done it lately, do yourself a favour and head to Howard Smith Wharves, James Street or the CBD for an experience that rivals anything on offer around the globe.

I hope you enjoy the read.
